Faststream is a successful, growing company which can provide you with both the tools and autonomy to develop your own career path. We strongly encourage consultants to use their initiative and create their own opportunities. We are also a dynamic organisation with a fun, relaxed, hardworking and rewarding Company culture. Our social outings are always something to look forward to!

We invest heavily in training and development both initially and throughout your career here. We ensure every employee has a 6 monthly appraisal meeting which identifies your training needs and gives you an opportunity to shape your career.  We are accredited by ‘Investors in People’ which, assures a good working environment,  recognition training and development,  pride in being part of a successful organisation, good communication, job satisfaction, and skill and career development opportunities.

We offer a very comprehensive benefits package, which includes contributory pensions and healthcare like most companies. But we offer so much more than that. Here are just a few reasons our team chose to work at Faststream.

• Competitive pay – We offer a very competitive basic salary, with an excellent OTE set 1 year in advance. We are transparent when it comes to your earning potential; no hidden ‘nasties’ and only achievable, uncapped commission. We also offer ‘stretch’ targets for those extra talented employees!?

• Bonus schemes – We offer bonus schemes including cash and other fantastic prizes, and we showcase our best employees at our end of quarter meetings.

• Specialise – Be a specialist in your field, and run your own desk! We give our people the autonomy to run a little bit of the Faststream business.

• Clear career path and internal promotion – All of our management, without exception, are home grown. We encourage and nurture our talented team. We develop our consultants to become senior consultant (hopefully after 6 months), then managing consultants or executive consultants (after 1 year), and to continue up the ladder thereafter.

• A ‘work hard play hard’ culture means that we are frequently arranging events either formally or informally. We have a very open, non-hierarchical structure here at Faststream, and our home-grown management join in with the rest of us at events and parties!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Recruitment Process?

It’s a 3 stage process. We accept application by CV and Covering Letter. Once your CV has been reviewed and if we believe you are suitable, you will be contacted for a short telephone interview. If we decide to proceed with your application you will be invited in for a face to face interview (1st interview). Further Interviews (2nd and 3rd interviews) are then held by Hiring Managers and our CEO and Managing Director.

How should I prepare for an interview?

It is important to conduct thorough research about Faststream, our history and how we operate as a business. An interview is a two way process so it is equally important to come equipped with lots of questions for us to answer.

What do we look for?

We look for highly driven and motivated individuals with excellent communication skills. Experience in competitive target-driven industries is desirable, but if you are energetic, communicative, hardworking and target-focused you are half way to becoming a Recruitment Consultant. The ability to sell is also an integral part of the role.

Where are we based?

We are fortunate to have waterfront offices in Ocean Village, Southampton. It offers great views of the marina and a perfect working environment. We also have offices in Fort Lauderdale, near Miami in the USA, and City centre offices in Singapore.

How can I apply?

Call us on + 44 (0)2380 33 4444, or email your CV and covering letter to rachel.sheridan@faststream.com

Who will interview me?

Rachel Sheridan, our Internal Recruiter conducts initial phone interviews and first stage face-to-face interviews. From then on our Managers and the Directors become involved in the recruitment process.

Can I transfer to overseas offices?

All internal vacancies are advertised within the organisation before we advertise externally. Opportunities in our overseas offices are included in these vacancies, and should you meet the appropriate criteria, it is a possibility.

How often do you recruit?

We have a really challenging growth plan for the next 3 years and are looking to grow our teams substantially over this time. With this in mind, we are always looking for new talent to join our business. We are really proud of our very low turnover in staff; therefore the majority of our hiring is as a result of our growth plans.

How can I progress in the organisation?

Once you have a shown that you can consistently hit your targets and have proved yourself to be fully competent in your marketplace, the next step is to move up to a Senior Consultant. At this stage you will receive a salary review, company car or allowance, mobile phone and more annual leave. Following this, we have opportunities to manage teams (Managing Consultant), or simply work to the top of your game as an Executive Consultant. Whichever route you choose, you will receive regular feedback

What tips can you give me?

Be prepared, know your CV and be yourself. The most successful interviews lately have been with candidates who really know how to sell and relate transferrable skills from previous jobs into the role as a Recruitment Consultant. Do thorough research prior to your interview and try to understand our markets and our company. Also ask questions - we expect you to be inquisitive and ask good business focussed questions.
