Apparently social networking sites such as facebook, twitter, myspace and so on are costing the UK economy £14bn !
On a recent survey in the UK, results show that 6% (about 2 million of the 34 million strong UK workforce) spend more that 30 minutes a day tweeting, blogging and poking.
Interestingly, the people surveyed also felt as if this time used on these sites, was actually classed at productive time !
I have just had a little walk around the office and there doesnt seem to be a problem here, however, almost everyone has blackberries or iphones out on their desk - so who knows ?
I think things have got to a point now, where social networking is culture. I can understand businesses having concerns, but surely we had these concerns about email when that first was introduced (of course, not that I would be old enough to remember that !)
